Bihar Plans Major Industrial Push with 11 Mega Parks, 38 Food Parks and 50,000-Acre Land Bank
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary unveils roadmap to transform Bihar into an industrial hub, focusing on investment, job creation and ease of doing business.
The Bihar government has announced an ambitious plan to accelerate industrial development and transform the state into a major industrial hub. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday revealed a large-scale roadmap that includes the development of 11 mega industrial parks, food parks in all 38 districts, and a 50,000-acre land bank to attract investment and generate employment opportunities.
The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting of the Industries Department held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna. During the meeting, officials discussed ongoing industrial projects, investment plans, and future strategies aimed at boosting Bihar’s economic growth.
Chief Minister Choudhary emphasized that industrial development is essential for the overall progress of Bihar and said the government is committed to strengthening the state's economy while creating new employment opportunities for young people.
As part of the initiative, the government has directed officials to establish a 50,000-acre land bank to ensure the timely availability of land for industrial projects. District authorities have been asked to engage with landowners and ensure fair compensation during land acquisition to avoid delays in project implementation.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to simplify regulations and improve Bihar’s ranking in the Ease of Doing Business index. The government plans to make approval processes faster and more transparent to create a business-friendly environment for investors.
Special focus will be placed on sectors such as food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are expected to generate significant employment and contribute to economic expansion. The state is also working on setting up textile industrial centers to strengthen manufacturing capabilities.
Additionally, the Bihar government aims to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment in rural areas by encouraging local youth to establish businesses and industries within their communities.
The government is also planning to strengthen Bihar’s startup ecosystem to create new opportunities for young entrepreneurs. Officials have been instructed to maintain regular communication with industrialists and business organizations to address concerns and ensure smoother industrial growth.
