US-Iran Tensions Escalate? Second Missile Attack on US Base in Kuwait Within Two Hours

In a dramatic escalation, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed that Iran attempted a second strike on Kuwait within just a few hours, though the attacks were reportedly intercepted before causing any damage.

According to CENTCOM, Iranian drones aimed at US forces stationed in Kuwait were successfully neutralized by American defense systems. The US military said that no personnel or military infrastructure suffered any damage during the attempted attacks.

In an official statement posted on social media, CENTCOM said, “Another Iranian drone attack targeting US forces in Kuwait was defeated. US defense systems intercepted multiple drones, and no American personnel or military assets were harmed.”

Earlier the same day, the US military reported simultaneous missile threats directed toward Kuwait, Bahrain, and other regional military installations. Officials stated that two missiles aimed at Kuwait either malfunctioned or were destroyed before reaching their target, while three ballistic missiles heading toward Bahrain were intercepted mid-air.

US Claims Iranian Drones Targeted Military Forces American military officials also alleged that several Iranian drones targeting civilian vessels in regional waters and US troops in Kuwait were shot down. In response, the United States reportedly launched retaliatory strikes near Iran’s Qeshm Island, strategically located close to the Strait of Hormuz. Iran Presents a Different Narrative Meanwhile, Iranian state media offered a conflicting version of events. Reports from Tehran claimed that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, along with a regional airbase and military helicopters using missiles and drones.

Iranian media further claimed that the Fifth Fleet was successfully hit, an assertion strongly denied by the US military. Tehran said the attacks were retaliation for an earlier American strike on a communications tower south of Qeshm Island.

Peace Talks Under Shadow of Conflict The developments come at a sensitive time, as the United States and Iran are reportedly engaged in discussions aimed at ending ongoing hostilities. Both sides had indicated last week that preliminary understandings had been reached, though no formal agreement has yet been signed. Iranian media recently claimed that direct communication between the two nations had stalled over the past several days. However, US President Donald Trump dismissed those reports, insisting that dialogue remained active.

In a social media post, Trump stated, “We have been talking continuously — four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, one day ago, and today.”

The renewed military confrontation has raised concerns of a wider regional conflict, especially as diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes.
