COVID-19 Cases Rise Again in India as Andhra Pradesh Reports Deaths, Mumbai Detects Fresh Infection

New Delhi: India is witnessing a fresh rise in COVID-19 cases, with new infections reported from Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai, prompting health authorities to advise the public to remain vigilant.
According to official data, Andhra Pradesh currently has eight active COVID-19 cases, while two COVID-related deaths have been reported in the state over the past few weeks.
One of the recent fatalities involved a 46-year-old man from Kadapa district, who was admitted to hospital after developing severe breathing difficulties and a persistent cough. Medical examinations reportedly revealed extensive lung damage caused by the infection, leading to severe pneumonia. Meanwhile, Mumbai has also reported a new COVID-19 case. Singer Kumar Sanu's son, Jaan Kumar Sanu, announced through social media that he had tested positive for the virus and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Health experts have advised the public to follow basic preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection. These include wearing masks in crowded places and hospitals, maintaining proper hand hygiene, and seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms such as fever, persistent cough, or breathing difficulties develop. People with weakened immunity, underlying medical conditions, smokers, and those who consume excessive alcohol have been urged to exercise extra caution, as they are considered more vulnerable to severe illness.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have appealed to citizens not to panic but to follow appropriate health precautions as COVID-19 cases begin to rise again in parts of the country.
