Centre Tightens Security for NEET UG Re-Test, IAF Aircraft May Be Used to Transport Question Papers

In a major move to prevent any possibility of paper leaks during the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, the Central Government is considering deploying Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft for the transportation of question papers. The proposal is part of a comprehensive security strategy being implemented after the controversy surrounding the alleged NEET UG paper leak.

According to sources in the Education Ministry, the government is leaving no room for lapses this time and is working closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs, central intelligence agencies, and state police departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for the re-test. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to personally monitor the entire process to maintain transparency and credibility.

A high-level meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was held on Thursday to discuss the security framework for the examination. The meeting was attended by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, senior PMO officials, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh, and top bureaucrats from various ministries.

Sources revealed that the government is primarily considering the use of IAF aircraft for logistics and secure transportation of examination material due to time constraints and heightened security concerns. The move is aimed at ensuring that question papers reach examination centers safely without any risk of tampering or leakage.

The Centre is also expected to introduce additional digital monitoring systems, stricter surveillance protocols, and enhanced coordination among law enforcement agencies to safeguard the integrity of the examination process.
