Delhi Breathes Easy as Monsoon Brings Rain Relief, IMD Issues Yellow Alert

After weeks of scorching summer heat, Delhi-NCR is finally witnessing a welcome change in weather. With the arrival of the monsoon on July 2, residents have found relief from the intense heat and humidity that had gripped the national capital.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is likely to receive light rain or drizzle on Friday, July 3. The weather agency has also issued a Yellow Alert, advising people to stay cautious as isolated areas may experience rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms.

Friday morning began with overcast skies and pleasant weather, offering a refreshing start to the day. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.1°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35°C.

The IMD's latest forecast suggests that cloudy conditions will persist throughout the day, with light showers likely during the afternoon and evening hours. Strong winds may also accompany the rain in some parts of the city.

The fresh spell of monsoon showers is expected to keep temperatures in check and provide continued relief from the oppressive summer conditions. However, commuters are advised to remain alert for possible traffic congestion and waterlogging in low-lying areas if rainfall intensifies.
