Free Ration Distribution Under NFSA to Begin from July 6; Beneficiaries Can Collect Foodgrains Till July 20
Antyodaya and Priority Household ration card holders will receive free foodgrains under the National Food Security Act, while eligible Antyodaya families will also get subsidised sugar.
The distribution of free ration for July under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) will be carried out from July 6 to July 20, officials have announced.
District Supply Officer Krishna Vallabh said the distribution will be conducted as per the directions of the Food Commissioner for both Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) ration card holders.
Under the scheme, Antyodaya card holders will receive 35 kg of foodgrains per card, comprising 10 kg of wheat and 25 kg of rice, free of cost. In addition, each Antyodaya family will be provided 3 kg of sugar for the months of April, May, and June at a subsidised price of ₹54.
Meanwhile, Priority Household (PHH) beneficiaries will receive 5 kg of free foodgrains per person, including 1 kg of wheat and 4 kg of rice.
Ration distribution will take place daily in two shifts—from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm—through e-POS machines.
Officials also clarified that the portability facility will not be available for sugar distribution, meaning beneficiaries must collect sugar only from their designated Fair Price Shop.
The District Supply Officer has urged all eligible beneficiaries to collect their free ration and subsidised sugar within the scheduled distribution period.
