Heavy Rain Keeps Delhi-NCR Cool, IMD Forecasts More Showers and Thunderstorms
The India Meteorological Department predicts light to heavy rainfall across parts of Delhi-NCR, with temperatures expected to remain below normal before rising later this week.
Persistent rainfall has brought cooler weather to Delhi-NCR, with temperatures dropping significantly below seasonal averages. Several parts of the region are expected to receive light to moderate rain today, while isolated areas could witness heavy showers.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is unlikely to be any major change in the maximum temperature over the next 24 hours. However, temperatures are expected to rise by 4–6°C after that period.
The weather department has also forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds across most parts of Delhi-NCR during the evening and night, with isolated spells of heavy rain.
On Thursday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 29.2°C, which was 7.4°C below normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 24.3°C, 3.6°C below the seasonal average, reflecting the cooling impact of the ongoing monsoon activity.
