Netanyahu Rejects JD Vance's Claim, Says ‘Israel Has 1.4 Billion Friends in India’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pushed back against a recent remark by US Vice President JD Vance, saying Israel is far from standing alone on the world stage.

Speaking at a public event, Netanyahu rejected Vance's claim that the United States is Israel's only powerful ally. Instead, he pointed to India as one of Israel's strongest supporters.

"We have many friends," Netanyahu said. "There is a country called India with 1.4 billion people, and we receive tremendous support there."

His remarks came weeks after JD Vance suggested that Israel should be careful not to criticise the United States during sensitive US-Iran peace efforts, arguing that America remained Israel's only major ally.

Netanyahu disagreed, saying Israel enjoys support from several countries, even if some governments are not always vocal about it publicly. He added that many world leaders regularly contact Israel to strengthen cooperation in areas such as defence, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

According to Netanyahu, Israel's technological expertise has become one of its biggest strengths. He said many nations are interested in learning from Israel's advanced military systems, AI capabilities and cybersecurity experience.

The Israeli Prime Minister also revealed that he receives significant support from people in India through social media, especially on Facebook. He said this public backing reflects the strong relationship between the two countries.

Netanyahu stressed that Israel's international partnerships are much broader than they may appear. While the United States remains a key strategic ally, he insisted that Israel continues to build close ties with several nations through technology, innovation, security cooperation and shared interests.

His comments come at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high, making international alliances and diplomatic support more important than ever.
