BJP Questions Rahul Gandhi's Absence, Congress Yet to Respond
Amit Malviya raises questions over Rahul Gandhi's whereabouts, citing his absence from public events and social media.
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has questioned the absence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from public life, claiming that no public photographs or videos of him have appeared on his social media profile for the past 20 days.
BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya, in a post on X on Sunday, alleged that Rahul Gandhi has been outside India for an extended period and questioned his whereabouts.
"Does anyone know where Rahul Gandhi is? Which country is he vacationing in? Who is he with? Whom does he frequently meet during these visits?" Malviya wrote, while criticizing the Congress leader over his alleged absence from public engagements.
According to the BJP, Rahul Gandhi's absence also forced the Congress to postpone several pre-scheduled programmes related to its "Chhatron Ki Goonj" (Voice of Students) campaign.
Malviya further alleged that Rahul Gandhi had not visited the affected areas or met victims in Wayanad even several days after the recent tragedy there. He also questioned the Congress MP's repeated foreign visits and their timing.
As of now, the Congress has not issued an official response to the BJP's allegations regarding Rahul Gandhi's whereabouts or the postponement of party programmes.
