Rebel TMC MP Saayoni Ghosh Welcomes Sonam Wangchuk Ending Hunger Strike, Calls Dialogue Between CJP and Government a Positive Step

Rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saayoni Ghosh has welcomed activist Sonam Wangchuk's decision to end his hunger strike, describing it as a positive development and expressing hope that the ongoing dialogue between the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and the Central Government will lead to meaningful outcomes.

Speaking on the issue, Ghosh said, "It is a very positive development that Sonam Wangchuk has ended his hunger strike. I am grateful to him. The talks that have begun between CJP and the government are likely to produce positive and fruitful results."

Emphasising the need for cooperation, she added that both the students and the government belong to the nation, and any resolution should serve the interests of both. "The children belong to the country, and so does the government. Whatever happens should be in the best interest of both the students and the nation," she said.

Ghosh also criticised opposition parties, alleging that they attempted to gain political mileage from the student-led movement. According to her, the protests initiated by the Cockroach Janata Party and the country's youth were later used by political parties to advance their own interests.

She maintained that the government is acting responsibly, listening to students' concerns, and will continue engaging with them to address their demands.
