Dinesh Karthik Slams Gautam Gambhir Over Batting Order Call After India's Record T20 Defeat

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has openly criticised head coach Gautam Gambhir following India's record-breaking defeat to England in the fourth T20I at Trent Bridge.

India suffered a humiliating 125-run defeat on Tuesday, marking the biggest loss by runs in the team's T20 international history. The result also extended India's winless streak to five consecutive T20 matches.

Karthik's criticism centred on a surprising batting-order decision made by the Indian team management. After Axar Patel was dismissed with India struggling at 52/5 in the fifth over, fast bowler Harshit Rana was sent in to bat ahead of all-rounder Shivam Dube.

The move left Karthik stunned while on live commentary. Reacting immediately, he said, "Are you serious? Sending Harshit Rana ahead of Shivam Dube? You cannot be serious."

The tactical gamble failed to deliver. Rana managed just two runs from four deliveries before being dismissed by England pacer Josh Tongue.

Karthik also expressed frustration over India's repeated changes to the batting order, suggesting that the lack of consistency was hurting the team's performance.
