FIFAToSellWorldCupFinalPitch: Fans Can Own a Piece of Football History

FIFA has announced that football fans will soon be able to own a piece of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final by purchasing limited-edition sections of the match pitch as official memorabilia.

The collectible turf pieces will be available in four pricing tiers, starting at $450 and going up to $3,000. Each piece will be preserved in a premium acrylic display featuring an authenticity seal. The top-tier edition will also include a gold-etched replica final ticket, a miniature World Cup ball, and a crystal-cut World Cup trophy.

FIFA will produce no more than 2,026 pieces in each category, making the souvenirs exclusive for collectors. Reports suggest the governing body could generate more than $11 million from the sale.

The grass for the World Cup final was specially grown at a turf farm in North Carolina, while natural grass surfaces were installed at all tournament venues, including stadiums that usually use artificial turf, to ensure uniform playing conditions.

The memorabilia will only be shipped to customers in the United States and Europe, with deliveries beginning after the World Cup final.

The announcement comes as FIFA continues to face criticism over the tournament's high ticket prices, with final tickets costing up to $32,970 and premium hospitality packages reaching $34,500.
