Sourav Ganguly, Anjum Chopra and Kevin Pietersen Inducted into ICC Hall of Fame 2026

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest additions to its prestigious Hall of Fame, with former India captains Sourav Ganguly and Anjum Chopra, along with former England star Kevin Pietersen, becoming the newest inductees in the 2026 class.

The ICC Hall of Fame recognises legendary cricketers whose exceptional achievements have left a lasting legacy on the sport.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly earned the honour after a distinguished international career in which he scored more than 18,000 runs across formats. Widely regarded as one of India's most influential captains, Ganguly transformed the team's mindset with his fearless leadership and guided India to the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final. His iconic Test debut century at Lord's and his successful opening partnership with Sachin Tendulkar remain among the defining moments of his career.

Expressing his gratitude, Ganguly said being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame was one of the most cherished moments of his life.

Former India women's captain Anjum Chopra was also recognised for her pioneering role in the growth of women's cricket in the country. During her 17-year international career, she scored more than 3,500 runs and became the first Indian woman cricketer to play 100 One-Day Internationals. She also captained India to its first overseas women's Test victory against South Africa, helping lay the foundation for future generations.

Meanwhile, former England batter Kevin Pietersen was honoured for his explosive batting and match-winning performances. The stylish right-hander scored 13,797 international runs and played a key role in England's victorious 2010 ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign, where he was named Player of the Tournament. Pietersen was also one of England's most successful batters in both Test and ODI cricket.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah congratulated the trio, saying their achievements have inspired millions of cricket fans around the world and that their legacies will continue to be celebrated alongside the greatest names in the history of the game.
