West Indies Clinch Test Series Against Sri Lanka After Draw in Antigua

West Indies sealed a memorable 1-0 Test series win over Sri Lanka after the second and final Test in Antigua ended in a high-scoring draw on Tuesday. Having won the opening Test by an innings, the hosts only needed to avoid defeat to wrap up the series.

Sri Lanka, looking to level the series, batted positively on the final day. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva, Sonal Dinusha and Milan Rathnayake played quick cameos as the visitors declared at 251/9 in their second innings after extending their lead beyond 300 runs.

West Indies' bowlers adopted defensive tactics to slow Sri Lanka's scoring, but the visitors still added runs at a brisk pace before declaring. Chasing an unlikely target, West Indies openers John Campbell and Brandon King faced little trouble despite some uneven bounce and two brief rain interruptions.

The result gives West Indies their first Test series victory since February 2023 and their first Test series triumph over Sri Lanka in 23 years.
