Sonam Wangchuk's Health Deteriorates on 11th Day of Hunger Strike at Jantar Mantar

Climate activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk's health has deteriorated significantly after completing 11 days of an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, according to doctors monitoring his condition.

Medical experts said Wangchuk has lost more than seven kilograms since beginning the fast, raising concerns about his health. Despite the decline in his condition, the protest has continued, with supporters demanding action from the Centre.

The demonstration, organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), has now entered its 19th day. Protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations and are seeking greater accountability from the government.

The protest has drawn the participation of students, activists and civil society members, who have called for transparency and reforms in the country's examination system. Organisers have indicated that the agitation will continue until their demands are addressed.

Doctors are closely monitoring Wangchuk's health and have expressed concern over the impact of the prolonged fast, while supporters continue to gather at the protest site in solidarity.
