China Ready to Resolve Sensitive Issues With India, Says Foreign Minister Wang Yi

China has expressed its willingness to work with India to resolve sensitive issues and strengthen the positive momentum in bilateral relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of ASEAN-related engagements in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

According to Wang Yi, China is prepared to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, maintain high-level exchanges, and deepen cooperation across key sectors. He said Beijing is willing to enhance collaboration in trade, the economy, media, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges to further improve bilateral ties.

The remarks come amid ongoing efforts by both nations to stabilise relations and expand cooperation despite differences over several sensitive issues. The two leaders also discussed ways to maintain dialogue and promote constructive engagement between India and China.

The meeting is being viewed as another step towards improving diplomatic engagement between the two Asian neighbours after recent efforts to restore normalcy in bilateral relations.
