US Launches Biggest-Ever Crackdown on Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, 24 Arrested Across Multiple Countries
Operation Hard Ball targets transnational crime network linked to murder, extortion, drug trafficking and arms offences
US authorities have launched their largest-ever operation against the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, arresting 24 suspects across the United States, Canada and Europe in a coordinated international crackdown.
The operation, codenamed Operation Hard Ball, targeted criminal networks allegedly involved in murder, extortion, drug trafficking, kidnapping, firearms offences and other forms of organised crime operating across multiple countries.
According to the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the arrests followed a years-long investigation. Law enforcement agencies executed more than 50 search warrants across California, Indiana, Georgia, Canada and Spain, leading to the arrest of several key suspects.
The DOJ said three separate federal indictments have been filed against 37 individuals allegedly linked to three organised crime groups based in India. Of those charged, 24 have been taken into custody, while 10 remain at large. Authorities are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the remaining suspects.
The coordinated operation involved multiple US and international law enforcement agencies and marks one of the most significant actions taken against transnational criminal networks linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
