Meerut Woman Accuses Husband, In-Laws of Abuse and Attempted Murder During Vietnam Trip; Police Register Case

A woman from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has filed a police complaint accusing her husband and his family of domestic abuse, dowry-related harassment, and attempting to kill her during a trip to Vietnam. Police have registered a case against five people and said the matter is under investigation.
According to the complaint, the woman, Saloni Arora, married Ashish Pasricha on June 4, 2025. She alleged that despite her family spending nearly ₹2 crore on the wedding, she began facing physical and mental harassment within a month of the marriage.
She claimed she was repeatedly abused and assaulted at her matrimonial home and that her parents were also mistreated when they tried to intervene.
The complainant further alleged that on June 10, 2026, her husband took her to Vietnam against her wishes. She claimed that while staying at a hotel, he assaulted her with a belt and attempted to strangle her before leaving her alone. After receiving medical treatment in Vietnam, she returned to India and later underwent further examination at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, where she said doctors found injuries to her neck.
She also alleged that after returning to her in-laws' home on June 21, she was again subjected to abuse. According to her complaint, another alleged attempt to strangle her took place on June 26, following which she contacted the police and returned to her parental home.
Based on her complaint, Railway Road Police in Meerut have registered a case against her husband, his parents, a family friend, and one unidentified family member. Police said the allegations are being investigated and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
The allegations have been made by the complainant, and the accused's response has not been reported. The investigation is ongoing.
