PM Modi Urges Compassion for Youth After Jantar Mantar Protest Row

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a new video message calling for compassion and guidance instead of anger following the controversy over abusive slogans raised against him during the recent Gen Z-led protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Referring to the incident, the Prime Minister said the country had witnessed what happened and described it as a "cultural shock" that young girls could use such language. However, he stressed that children often make mistakes and should be shown the right path rather than punished.

"It is a cultural shock. How can our daughters speak such language? Children make mistakes while growing up. This is the time to embrace them and guide them onto the right path," PM Modi said in his video message. He also reiterated that abusive language never solves any problem and urged society to respond with understanding rather than hostility.

The message comes days after a viral video from a protest at Jantar Mantar showed some young demonstrators allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Modi. The incident triggered widespread political debate, public outrage, and legal action, with a Zero FIR reportedly registered against one of the individuals seen in the viral clip.

Instead of demanding strict punishment, the Prime Minister appealed to citizens to treat the youngsters as "misguided children" who need direction. His remarks have sparked fresh discussion over freedom of expression, political dissent, and the responsibility of society in shaping the values of the younger generation.
