Rajpal Yadav Sentenced to Three Months in Jail as Delhi High Court Upholds Conviction

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been sentenced to three months of simple imprisonment after the Delhi High Court upheld his conviction in seven cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma dismissed Yadav's revision petitions, affirming the trial court's verdict.

The case is linked to a long-running financial dispute involving unpaid dues from a loan taken for a film project. The court observed that Yadav had repeatedly failed to honour the commitments and undertakings he had given regarding repayment, and therefore declined to grant him probation or any further relief.

While the High Court upheld the conviction, it reduced the sentence to three months' simple imprisonment. The ruling brings a significant chapter in the prolonged legal battle to a close.
