Final Rehearsal for District-Level International Yoga Day Event Tomorrow: DC Uttam Singh
Main Programme to Be Held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium on June 21; Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh to Attend
Gurugram, June 19: The Gurugram district administration has finalized all preparations for the successful event of International Yoga Day 2026. The district-level main event will be held on June 21 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 38, with Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh attending as the Chief Guest.
Ahead of the event, a final rehearsal will be conducted on June 20 to ensure the smooth execution of all arrangements.
Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh stated that responsibilities have been assigned to officials and employees from various departments to organize the event in a grand and systematic manner. ALC Kushal Kataria has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the programme.
The DC informed that the final rehearsal will take place at 6:00 AM on June 20 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium. He urged residents of the district to participate in large numbers and make yoga a part of their daily routine for a healthier and more balanced life. He emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but also a foundation for building a healthy society and a strong nation.
District AYUSH Officer Dr. Manju Kumari said that the Yoga Day programme will commence at 5:30 AM on June 21. Live telecasts of messages from the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister will be arranged through special LED screens installed at the venue.
Mass yoga sessions will be conducted under the guidance of yoga experts, with participation from citizens, students, government officials, and members of various social organizations.
Dr. Manju Kumari added that there has been an overwhelming response to International Yoga Day across the district. To ensure maximum participation, an online registration campaign was launched, through which more than 52,000 citizens have registered—placing Gurugram at the top position in Haryana.
