Ram Temple Introduces Stricter Donation Counting Rules After Alleged Offering Theft

Ayodhya, July 4: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya has introduced sweeping changes to its donation counting process following allegations of theft involving temple offerings. The new measures are aimed at strengthening security and ensuring greater transparency in the handling of devotees' donations.

Under the revised system, all personnel involved in counting donations must pass through two levels of security screening before entering the counting hall. Employees are also required to wear dark blue uniforms without pockets to eliminate the possibility of concealing cash or valuables.

Several additional restrictions have been put in place. Donation counting will now be conducted while staff members sit on the floor instead of using tables and chairs. Mobile phones, cameras, bags, and other personal belongings are strictly prohibited inside the counting hall. Employees must also remove their footwear before entering the designated counting area.

The changes follow an ongoing investigation into the alleged theft of temple offerings. According to reports, one of the accused, Anukalp Mishra, was allegedly issued entry passes as a "system volunteer" during special temple events, giving him access to the temple premises and the donation counting process.

As the investigation continues, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Mahant Dinendra Das Maharaj has called for strict punishment for those found guilty. The temple administration hopes the revamped procedures will restore public confidence and ensure the secure handling of devotees' offerings.
