Harry Brook Wins Hearts with Humble Tribute to India After Historic T20I Series Victory
Despite leading England to their first-ever bilateral T20I series win over India, Brook called the Men in Blue "the best team in the world" and praised his side's adaptability.
England captain Harry Brook struck the perfect balance between confidence and humility after guiding his team to a historic T20I series victory over India. Following England's emphatic nine-wicket win in the fourth T20I in Bristol, Brook chose to praise the Indian side instead of celebrating excessively.
England chased down the target with 37 balls to spare, taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series and securing their first-ever bilateral T20I series win over India.
Speaking after the match, Brook hailed India as one of the strongest teams in world cricket.
"Beating India is always special. They are a fantastic team. I'm really pleased with the way we adapted to the conditions and used our skills according to the pitch," Brook said, while also applauding the communication and teamwork within England's bowling unit.
Brook also admitted that becoming the world's No. 1 T20I team would be a proud achievement if England can win the final match of the series.
"If we become the No. 1 team in the world, it will be something to be proud of. Our goal is to continue playing this brand of cricket and finish by lifting the trophy," he added.
The England skipper also led from the front with the bat, smashing 79 runs off just 35 balls in a match-winning knock. Reflecting on his innings, Brook credited the team's pre-match planning and highlighted England's batting depth as one of their biggest strengths.
With one match remaining, England will look to complete a dominant series sweep, while India aim to end the tour on a positive note.
