Sai Sudharsan Smashes Brilliant Century as India A Dominate Sri Lanka A on Day 1

India A made an impressive start to the first unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A as opener Sai Sudharsan produced a magnificent century on the opening day at the Galle International Stadium on Thursday.

After winning the toss, India A captain Dhruv Jurel elected to bat first in the four-day contest, a decision that was fully justified by Sudharsan's outstanding performance at the top of the order.

The left-handed batter reached his century in just 130 balls, hitting 14 boundaries. He eventually scored 132 runs off 175 deliveries, including 19 fours, registering the ninth first-class century of his career. Sudharsan has also scored 10 half-centuries in first-class cricket.

Sudharsan received valuable support from fellow batters Ayush Pandey and Ruturaj Gaikwad. He shared a 78-run opening partnership with Ayush Pandey, who contributed 25 runs from 64 balls with three boundaries before being dismissed by Dilum Sudheera.

The stylish opener then stitched together a crucial 90-run stand for the third wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad made 22 runs from 53 deliveries, including one four, before Ravindu Fernando claimed his wicket.

Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal failed to make a significant impact, managing just 12 runs before also falling to Dilum Sudheera.

Sai Sudharsan's commanding knock placed India A in a strong position on the opening day as the visitors looked to take control of the unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A.
